Best Places to Eat in La Union, Philippines – Restaurant and Bar Guide

If you’re headed out surfing in La Union for the weekend, you’re going to want to know where to get some great food at. You also may need a few drinks after the sun goes down to talk about your worst tumble off the surf board.

Here’s a list of my favorite places that I have found near the San Juan Beach in La Union, Philippines.

Best Places to Eat and Drink in La Union

One thing that I love about La Union is that there are plenty of unique restaurants to choose from. I also love that they have a few different food parks which is great when traveling in groups so you have quite a few food options all in one place.

Here are some of my favorites! Let me know if I missed any great places in the comments below.

Beach Bum Food Park

How about 10 different food stalls all in one place? Can I get a hell yeah! They had traditional Filipino food, a grill for pork/chicken/hot-dogs, american food (Sloppy-Joe, hamburgers, etc), Mexican food, and a whole vendor just for drinks.

On holidays they have bands come and play as well. By far one of my favorite places to go since everyone always saw something they liked here.

Surf Shack

If you’re looking for a place to drink at with some live music, then Surf Shack is definitely a great choice. Known for it’s great grilled food,  burgers, salads, and beer!

There is also a milk-tea shop at the entrance in case you need your bubble-tea fix.

Olas Banditos

Definitely a great place for authentic Mexican Food. Their entrees range from burritos, tacos, fajitas, quesadillas, and nachos.

And of course, dont forget to grab an amazing margarita, mojito, or Spanish beer to cap the night off.

Located on the main road just a 2 minute walk from the beach.

The Coffee Library

This place is located right along the main highway and you cant miss it – it’s all glass on the front and at night is lit up bright!

This is one of my favorite places to go for coffee and dessert at night. The atmosphere is relaxing and they have a terrace area at the back which is quiet.

They have free wifi, making it a great place if you need to sit down and get a little work done. Otherwise people come here to chill with friends or read a book.

Flotsam and Jetsam Food Park

This very well known hostel is not only a great place to stay, but it’s one of the best party places in La Union. Located right along the San Juan beachfront. They offer a mixture of different bar food type options.

The best part about coming here is for their coconut-mango ice cream served in the shell of a coconut.

There are many places to drink in La Union, but it’s the most fun at the beachfront of Flotsam and Jetsam. They have hammocks, bean bag chairs, and hanging colored glass lanterns with good music bumping in the background. The best drink options I tried here was the sangria and margaritas.

You wouldn’t think you’d find great sushi here in La Union, but at Kaizen you can get really fresh sushi and other Japanese food choices.

The building is home to Figaro as well which you can order both from the pasta menu or the Japanese menu no matter which you prefer. This makes it good for groups which may have different food interests.

It’s located just along the main road near Surf Shack.
