Best Luxury Hotels in Manila, Philippines

The Philippines has a large variety of hotels as a result of the increasing flow of business and tourists travelers. Whether you’re headed to Manila for business or pleasure, if you’re looking for a top notch place to stay, there are many beautiful 5 star hotels with a variety of amenities and services.

What is Philippine hospitality like?

The first thing you’ll notice when you enter the upper class hotels in Manila is that you are treated like royalty. They greet you immediately with a smile, take all your bags, and are very attentive to any requests or concerns you have. The Philippines hospitality is one of the most top notch in the world.

Communication is easy and smooth

One of the best parts of Philippines hospitality is the fact that their English is near perfect. You’ll never find yourself wondering what they or have trouble asking for anything.

Why stay in Manila Luxury hotels?

The Philippines has the most beautiful islands in the world including untouched coral reefs, lush green rice terraces, and more beaches than you can imagine. But when you’re passing through to get to those places you’ll almost always takes through Manila and it’s worthwhile to check out the city and it’s attractions.

5-star amenities at an affordable cost

While visiting, you may as well stay in the city in style. In most Western countries a 5 star hotel will cost you $500 USD or more, in Manila you can do the same for just $100 USD and you’ll notice an even greater experience offered.

The “fancy” hotels around Manila come equipped with beautiful pools surrounded by palm trees, onsite spa, rooftop bars/clubs, the best buffet restaurants you’ll ever try, large and spacious rooms, laundry service, car/driver service to anywhere in the city, safety and security, and much more.

Best Luxury Hotels in Manila

Lets take a tour through the luxury hotels in Manila to see which ones best suits you on your next trip here.

Marco Polo (My personal favorite)

When I first stayed at Marco Polo Ortigas I wasn’t sure if this would give me that “luxury” hotel type experience. When I entered the lobby and was greeted warmly with a glass of iced tea and immediately seen up to my room, I was immediately impressed. The staff is very nice and the rooms are beautiful.

Marco Polo is my personal favorite stay-cation hotel in Manila for a relaxing experience. They have one of the best buffet restaurants in the city and a even more incredible roof-deck bar/club overlooking the city with live music.

When looking for food or coffee, Marco Polo Ortigas has it all right onsite. Their cafe at the ground floor has amazing ice cream and coffee. If you’re looking for dinner they have one of my favorite buffet restaurants including fresh seafood, pasta, noodle bar, desserts, etc.

While the dinner may cost as much as your night stay, it’s definitely worth it! If I can suggest trying their Iced Tea it comes with ice cubes with grapes inside them and a beautiful carafe (photo below bottom right corner).

Marco Polo Ortigas Amenities:

  • Onsite relaxing spa
  • Fitness center with instructors
  • Indoor infinity pool
  • Meeting/function rooms and ballroom
  • 2 restaurants, 2 cafes, and 1 bar

Fairmont Makati

The Fairmont Makati hotel is truly the definition of of a luxury hotel. They offer a 5-star experience and on top of that, a Gold 5-star experience! This hotel offers you so much in terms of amenities and style.

Upon entering the hotel you can wander down a beautiful winding corridor lined with many different types of cafes, restaurants and shops even before you go up to your room. My personal favorite of course being Spectrum 🙂 I’m a sucker for a buffet!

Although I have not stayed in the rooms at Fairmont, upon touring them it’s so clear that they are made to give a first class experience. I especially loved that they have both a rain style shower and a bathtub separate so you can choose which you prefer. Their mini-bar also comes fully stocked with so many snacks that I would have loved to indulge in! 🙂

They also offer a package for each room including the “Gold Lounge” which offers a premier lounge overlooking the city with unlimited snacks and drinks. You can add this to any of their rooms for an additional cost if you want their premier experience.

Sofitel Manila

Out of all of the luxury hotels of Manila, Sofitel is one of the most unique as it is located directly at the waters edge of the Manila Bay. This gives it a truly “island” like feel. It comes equipped with a beautiful pool that winds and weaves through the garden like a lazy river along with an outdoor bar to have a few drinks while relaxing.

The interior of the hotel is just as impressive with its high ceiling lobby connected to the Spiral buffet restaurant which has a delicious breakfast buffet. The rooms also do not disappoint with their casual tones of white, tan and browns. They are designed for comfort and relaxation!

Sofitel is not as near to the Makati business district as some of the others luxury hotels are, but I consider this to be a plus as you are far from the noise and hustle of the city. If you are looking for a truly first class experience, they also have VIP Club Suites which allow special access to their Millésime lounge offering a variety of wines, liquors, and snacks to their guest.

Sofitel Manila Amenities:

  • 12 acres of tropical gardens
  • Mini golf, aqua golf, tennis courts and running trails

Conrad Manila

This hotel sits right on the water of Manila Bay and is inspired by the impressive vessels that pass through the water every day. The stunning architecture gives it feeling of both strength and beauty with the waters to the front and the Makati skyline behind it.

Staying at Conrad Manila is an experience you will want to re-live over and over again. Whether you’re here for a vacation, on a business trip, or spending your time at the casinos next door, you will undoubtedly leave relaxed and refreshed.

The location of Conrad Manila is great as it’s on the water, nearby the biggest convention center in Manila, connected to the largest mall in the Philippines, and nearby great historic attractions. Shangri-La Makati

As a world renowned first class hotel chain, it can’t be unexpected that Shangri-La is at the top of the list. Shangri-La never disappoints you and the Makati location makes it known that you’ll be treated well when you walk through the doors and are greeted by a marble lobby, 3 story high golden ceilings, and two towering staircases flagged on either side of you.

Shangri-La Makati Rooms

The rooms here come in 3 types: Standard Room, Deluxe Suite, and Presidential Suite. Unfortunately I was not able to get into the Presidential Suite, but it has a greeting room which is a large living room and a separate bedroom. It also has a butler service so there is a staff member available specifically to you 24×7 if you’re looking for the ultimate first class experience 🙂
